What is FNSuite?

FNSuite is a software that can be installed on Symbian and Windows Mobile devices that enhances your mobile phone security, data confidentiality and phone retrieval.

The phone will automatically be locked when the SIM card is changed or when the phone is restarted (reboot). An SMS notification will be sent automatically to 2 pre-determined mobile numbers.

This SMS contains information such as SIM card ID and IMEI of your mobile phone. These information will be useful for making a police report. You can remote delete all data or choose to delete specific data, remote lock or remote unlock via an SMS from any mobile phone or through web-based SMS with your unique PIN.

Why should I use FNSuite?

You can delete photos, videos, address book, SMS messages, emails from your misplaced or lost mobile phone by simply sending a SMS!

You can use FNSuite to remote delete all data when you know your phone is lost. Even when the finder has changed the SIM card, you will be informed of the new mobile number of the new SIM card via an SMS notification. Afterwhich, you can send an SMS to the new number to delete all your data.

You can use FNSuite to remote lock your phone (via SMS) when you have misplaced it. You can SMS to find out the base station ID of your phone to get an idea of where your phone might be.

You can remote unlock your phone (via SMS) to an authorised user without disclosing your PIN code to him/her.

What kind of phones can I install FNSuite on?

FNSuite is also available for Symbian 60 v3 phones (more commonly known as Symbian 9).

How do I install FNSuite?

You can download it to your PC or directly onto your mobile phone.

If my phone has been hard reset, can I get a replacement FNSuite software?

Yes, simply download the software and re-activate your FNSuite. The FNSuite is licensed to your phone's unique IMEI number, and it is a life time license to that IMEI.

Can I uninstall FNSuite on my mobile phone?

Yes, you can uninstall FNSuite if your phone is not locked. If it is locked, it would not be possible to uninstall. You have to bring your mobile phone to Samsung Service Centre to hard reset your phone which means you will lose all your data. Hence, if your phone had been stolen, no one would have access to your data including pictures, videos or text messages.

I use multiple SIM cards. Can I stop the sending of SMS notifications when I change my SIM cards?

Yes, you can stop the sending of SMS notifications when you change SIM card. Under FNSuite Settings, disable 'Phone Lock' before you change your SIM card. After you have changed your SIM card, please remember to reactivate 'Phone Lock'.

I find FNSuite very useful and would like to introduce it to my friend.

In FNSuite, go to Options, Tell a Friend, key in your friend's mobile number and an SMS will be sent to your friend automatically. Send one to yourself to read the text! The text will also include the download link. (Please note that all SMS charges from Service Providers apply.)

How do I send commands to my phone using FNSuite?

You will need to know the PIN code to FNSuite installed on your mobile phone. For example your PIN Code is "12345".

If I sell my mobile phone installed with FNSuite, can I download the software into my new phone for free?

FNSuite is licensed to the phone's unique IMEI number. You will have to buy the software again for your new mobile phone. The earlier license which was licensed to your old mobile phone is not transferable.

What information is in the SMS notification triggered when a SIM card is changed?

The SMS notification will contain:

(a) the mobile number of the SIM card. All SMSes carry the country code.

(b) the SIM ID of the SIM card. This is a confidential number known only to the Service Provider. In most cases, the owner of the SIM Card does not know what it is. Most users are content to know the mobile number. Normally, when a mobile number is changed without a change of SIM Card, the SIM ID remains and is traceable to the person who registered the phone. SIM ID is a very good trace to the identity of the owner via the Service Provider.

(c) the base station ID of the Service Provider. This will give you an idea of the location where the SMS was sent from. The Service Provider would be able to tell you the streeet name of the location ID.

What can I do with the SMS notification from my stolen phone?

The SMS notification gives you enough information to make a police report, and also allows you to contact the finder or the thief!

Do I need a computer to send commands to my FNSuite?

You can send commands to FNSuite via a web-based SMS or SMS using any mobile phone. You would need to know the secret PIN code.

Can I use my friend's mobile phone to send commands to my FNSuite?

Yes, you certainly can.
If you lose your phone or if it gets stolen, you would not need to wait till you find a pc with internet or a specific phone to send your command. You would be able to use any mobile phone to quickly send the command with FNSuite.

What are the first and second SMS numbers in the FNSuite Settings page?

These 2 numbers are the pre-determined mobile numbers that you have set for your FNSuite to send the SMS notifications to when your phone is lost or misplaced. Please do not set your current mobile phone number to receive the SMS notification. Use your second phone number or phone numbers of friends that you can reach easily.

Why shouldn't I input my current mobile phone number as the first or second SMS number in the FNSuite Settings page?

If your current mobile phone is lost or stolen and the SMS notification is sent to that number, it would not be useful to you at all.

What is 'Phone Lock' in the Settings page?

Phone Lock when enabled will ensure that when your SIM card is changed, the phone will be automatically be locked. Disable this setting when you are changing SIM card (e.g. when you are travelling). After you have changed the SIM card, please remember to enable 'Phone Lock' again.

What can 'Always Lock on Boot' in the Settings page do for me?

'Always Lock on Boot' sees to it that when you reboot or switch off and on your mobile phone, the phone will lock automatically. This is an extra safeguard. When this setting is disabled and 'Phone Lock' is enabled, the phone will still lock when a SIM card change is detected.

However, when 'Always Lock on Boot' is disabled and there is no change of SIM card while the phone is switched off and on; the phone will not lock automatically.

We suggest you enable this feature to get maximum protection.

What does 'Tell a Friend' under 'Options' do for me?

When you select "Tell a Friend" you will be prompted to enter a mobile number. When you enter the mobile number with country code and press OK, an SMS will be sent to your friend to tell them about FNSuite and a download link will be provided.

I forgot my FNSuite PIN. What should I do?

To enable maximum protection for you and your data, the only way is to bring your mobile phone to Samsung Service Centre and hard reset the phone.

If I had to hard reset my phone but misplaced my FNSuite activation code, can I request the software again for free?

You can request via email to support@fabernitor.net to retrieve your activation code. Please provide your phone's unique IMEI number as the license key is tied to it.
